VENT FEATURES

Here are some features of vent that anyone is able to do:

If you don’t already know, you can mute your mic/binds or mute all sound at the bottom of the ventrilo client (client means the main window).

You can mute someone or send that person a page by right clicking their name and then selecting of one of those options.

You can adjust you mic settings and sounds settings by pressing Setup… on the right side of the vent client. To adjust your mic sensitivity, go to Setup… then on the left adjust sensitivity. To make it stop saying stuff when someone joins or exits the channel or server, go to Setup… then Event tab, then adjust each accordingly.

Putting text next to you name means you put a Comment. To do this, select the Comment… button on the right side of the vent client.

There is also a Chat… button on the right side of the vent client. This button will activate a chat window that is very similar to IRC (Internet Relay Chat). The chat window has a hide button, which will hide the chat window from view and remove it from your task bar. However, it will remain active and continue to receive information. If the chat window is hidden then pressing the Chat button again will make it visible. When someone has an active chat window open you will see a "C" in front of their name.

THIS FEATURE IS VERY USEFUL: You are able to adjust each individual user’s volume (you can adjust how loud you here them). To do this, right click on that user’s name, go to Miscellaneous then Special effects… Now add volume to the list on the left, and a box will pop up in order for you to adjust that person’s volume.
*Note: Do not adjust any other features under the Special effects… category unless you are very experienced with vent.

If you notice, a lot of people have the feature where it says any phrase they made it. In order to do this, you must first go to the place where you entered your username. Now in the Phonetic box, enter the text you would like to others to hear. You can even test it by clicking Play.
